The True You. A Sneak Peak at My Life Expedition material
As I am putting together the material for My Life Expedition (MLE) groups to begin this fall (God willing), I thought it might help for people to have an idea of what MLE groups are all about. The following is from the introduction.
God created you with profound love. He knew the exact person He wanted to create and the time and place He wanted to put you in hopes that you might find Him (Acts 17:27-28). You are a unique piece of God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for you to do (Eph. 2:10).
This person God created you to be is the real you; and you are loved with a love so profound that it can’t be totally comprehended. God also made you to live in community. Therefore, human beings are social beings. Every one of us has a desire to be known and accepted by others.
Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world and most of us found out quickly that many parts of the real or “true self” were not accepted, adored, or made to feel significant by others. So, we learned to constantly “re-invent” ourselves into someone who would receive the most positive response possible from peers and authority figures (or at least get the attention we all crave).
In reality, we know we can’t re-create a better self than the one that the God of the universe had in mind. He is the creator of stars that fit perfectly into galaxies, grains of sand that fit perfectly into seashores, and drops of water that fit perfectly into oceans. God got it right; the world is getting it wrong. However, many of us don’t realize this until later in adulthood.
Is now the time to take your life expedition to discover your true self and the God who created and loves you?
Not everyone is ready, but if you are, consider joining us for an information session to learn about the tools we will be using and the role you might play in one of these unique “listening groups”.
